The specific resolution can be found online at https://www.gunnisoncounty.org/resolutions. It is Resolution No: 2018-30, Article III Licensing. This requires all dog owners to obtain a Gunnison County license after you have received proof of their rabies vaccination. The only exception is a fee will not be charged for certified service and guide dogs used by impaired owners. The fee for each unaltered dog is $20, and $10 for altered animals. All licenses will expire on 12-31 of each year. The due date for getting your dogs licensed is March 1st of each year. There will be a $5 per month late fee if you do not license your dog by March 1st. In the event a tag is lost a duplicate shall be provided for a fee of $25.
